Traditional and web based system for searching fonts of a specific theme serve limitations. However, the technically designed “Fontplore” combines the plus points of both web and print based process for searching and exploring font databases. It is embedded on a table and the two interacts through tangible objects in order to direct and organize actions. With the help of this application, you can choose appropriate typeface for your project from number of fonts available.

This design offers you the ease of working on the Fontplore table using your finger, a pyramid and a round object for primary navigation. You can browse, preview, compare and print the fonts according to your need and interest. Check for the video after a jump.

Signs in Colorado

I love signs…

I visited Denver/Golden, Colorado this past month. I was stoked with how well the signs were in the quaint town of Golden and Georgetown. It’s awesome to see such well made signs out there. Walking through these old west towns reminded me a lot of Sisters, OR.

If you get the chance, checkout these small towns and appreciate the clean, old west aesthetic they offer.

TXT Island

The guys over at Tandum Films over in London, UK have created amazing animations over the last 20 years. One of their most recent projects is this amazing stop motion piece using plastic peg-board letters.

“Chris Gavin’s experimental stop-motion film. Painstakingly hand-crafted using hundreds of plastic peg-board letters.

The films follows the endeavours of a squad of letters, as they delve deep into the jungle of a mysterious island. What is their mission? And will they succeed?”

These guys are ridiculous! This is like a child hood dream to put together a film of this nature. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Something to get you creative juices flowing and maybe like me, your inner child stoked!
